George on Fire: 5-for-5 for Lakewood Saturday, September 16th , 2045 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Josh George is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at First Energy Park today. The monster effort from the 21-year-old right fielder helped the Lakewood BlueClaws take the win, 12-11. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Timber Rattlers manager Mauro Gomez. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Josh George singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. This season George is swinging the bat at a .285 rate with 134 hits in 471 at-bats. To date he has hit 25 home runs, scored 89 runs and driven in 82. |
