Augusta Win Division Championship Monday, October 16th , 2045 The Augusta GreenJackets "bent but didn't break" against the Peoria Chiefs in the Division Championship. That's according to Fred Arends of Augusta, who was named series MVP. "Our guys faced adversity and overcame it. This series wasn't easy, but we stuck to our game and made it work," he said. Augusta won the final game by a 9-8 count and the series 4-2. Arends's MVP performance included hitting .350 with a .458 on-base percentage. He also had 4 home runs, drove in 10 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Conference Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Division Championship finishes. |
