Lugnuts Win Conference Championship Friday, October 27th , 2045 The Lansing Lugnuts are bound for the World Series. A 5-2 win over the Hickory Crawdads at L.P. Frans Stadium ended the Conference Championship, 4-2. "We're not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but it's hard not to get pumped up and excited and think about how this season could end," said Dylan Phillips. "This could be the biggest celebration Lansing has ever seen if we can win the World Series." The state of the Midwest League championship remains in doubt, but the Lugnuts certainly appear to be strong contenders. Phillips was named MVP of the Conference Championship after he posted a .333 batting average, while adding 2 home runs, driving in 2 RBI and scoring 3 runs. The World Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Conference Championship finishes. |
