At the young age of only 21, Al Speer has been named the American League Reliever of the Year winner for 2045.

The future appears bright for the Bowling Green Hot Rods relief ace, who captured the award with 39 saves in 60 relief appearances, 70 strikeouts in 69 innings and a record of 4-5 to go with his 1.96 ERA.

He received 28 first place votes out of a possible 30. Mike Warren of the Hickory Crawdads finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Brian Kelly of the Bowling Green Hot Rods finished third.
