Brooklyn's Skipper Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Tuesday, July 11th , 2045 Matt Skipper put on a hitting clinic today as the Brooklyn Cyclones dumped the Eugene Emeralds 24-8 at MCU Park. The Brooklyn catcher made Eugene defenders earn their pay, lashing Eugene pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it." "Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Skipper said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch." Matt Skipper singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and was hit by a pitch in the 8th.
