Munguia 5-for-6 for Minnesota (NYP) Wednesday, July 12th , 2045 It seemed that Minnesota (NYP) right fielder Chris Munguia could do no wrong as the Twins KO'd the Chukars, 25-3 today. Munguia rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Chukars hurlers were throwing. "I think the Twins were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Idaho Falls fan after the game. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Munguia in the postgame press interview. Chris Munguia singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Bryan Kiefer in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Mike Tuck in the 5th, walked in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and singled in the 9th. In 80 games this season Munguia is batting .330 with 103 hits and 5 home runs. He has scored 85 runs and driven in 41. |
