Hedrick Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Friday, August 4th , 2045 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Trent Hedrick today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Bowman Field and paced the Crosscutters to a 25-2 win over the Eugene Emeralds. After his dynamite batting performance, the Williamsport first baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Trent Hedrick singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, was hit by a pitch in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, tripled in the 8th and walked in the 8th. This season in 83 games, Hedrick has hit at a .321 clip with 109 hits, 3 home runs, 66 RBIs and 66 runs scored. |
