Rome Blanks Los Angeles (NYP) Behind Arana Friday, August 11th , 2045 Ruben Arana kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Rome Braves were all smiles after winning 4-0 against the Los Angeles (NYP) Dodgers at State Mutual Stadium today. The right-handed Arana gave up no runs in his start, permitted 2 hits and had 10 strikeouts. "If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Arana said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be." To date this year, Arana shows a 9-1 record, 16 starts, 98.2 innings, 131 strikeouts and a 3.47 ERA. |
