Daniels Smacks 5 Hits for Indians Sunday, September 3rd , 2045 A jubilant Dennis Daniels joined the postgame press conference at Avista Stadium today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Tri-City ValleyCats pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Spokane Indians shortstop, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led the Indians to a 17-6 win. "He made it look easy," said Bryant Crocker, manager of the ValleyCats. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Dennis Daniels singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th and singled in the 6th. This season Daniels has 11 home runs and a .345 batting average. |
