Wagner 5-for-6 for Chukars
Sunday, September 17th , 2045
It was a good day for the Chukars at Melaleuca Field as they clipped the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, 21-15. It was tremendous day for John Wagner, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-6.
"I don't know what to call that," the Idaho Falls right fielder told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well."
John Wagner singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Rafael Borja in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a two-run triple in the 8th.
Wagner is hitting .300 so far this season with 70 RBIs and 97 runs scored. He has 121 hits including 14 home runs, 61 walks and .407 OBP.
