Now the 34-year-old pitcher has an award to show just how valuable he was, as he's been named the 2045 McNamara Division Most Valuable Player Award winner.
His remarkable campaign saw him put up a 27-1 record. In 28 starts he piled up 202.2 innings, had 261 strikeouts with 58 walks and a 2.09 ERA. Kawai held opposing hitters to a .179 batting average and compiled a 7.7 WAR.
