"I didn't expect to hit .344 this year, that's for sure," the second baseman said.
The Arizona (WIN) Diamondbacks star also put up a .493 on-base percentage this year, with 53 hits, 6 doubles, 1 triple, 10 home runs, 27 RBIs and 43 runs scored.
He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 30. Manny Estrada of the Kansas City (WIN) Royals finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Donny Burnside of the Toronto (WIN) Blue Jays finished third with 1 first place vote.
