Chotkowski and Rivera Fight, Get Suspended Thursday, August 24th , 2045 After an intense confrontation, both the Cardinals Eric Chotkowski and the Reds Dave Rivera were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent St. Louis-Cincinnati game. Eric Chotkowski will miss 4 games, while Dave Rivera was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Eric Chotkowski commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Looking at his present stats, Chotkowski has compiled a .240 batting average in 108 games with a .265 on-base percentage, while hitting 17 home runs and driving in 53 runs. Checking out his stats for the season, Rivera has registered 7 wins and 1 loss in 15 starts, 4.24 ERA and struck out 76 batters in 97.2 innings. |
