No Comeback This Season for Woods
Saturday, August 26th , 2045
Jerry Woods had hoped for the best, but expected the worst. Today, he learned from the Miami medical staff that he would miss the rest of the season. The Miami reliever suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in an earlier ballgame. He admitted to being discouraged, but said he plans to come back strong next year.
This year Woods has chalked up a 7.76 ERA with no saves. In 35 relief appearances he has put up a 1-1 won-lost mark and struck out 49 batters in 31.1 innings.
