Garciaparra Stretches Hit String to 20
Friday, September 1st , 2045
The Baltimore Orioles may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 6-4 to the New York Yankees, but Rudo Garciaparra continued to hit like a god.
The second baseman collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games.
"Garciaparra is playing great and is on fire right now," Orioles manager Jim White said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."
Garciaparra was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Rudo Garciaparra struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
Garciaparra is currently hitting at a .314 pace with 15 home runs, 59 RBIs and has scored 89 times.
