Twins End Garciaparra's Streak Saturday, September 9th , 2045 The Baltimore Orioles lost to the Minnesota Twins 9-2 today at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Rudo Garciaparra's 25-game hitting streak. The second baseman went 0-for-4 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Garciaparra, we would win the game," Twins manager Patrick Slack explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." Garciaparra is currently batting .311 with 15 home runs and 61 RBIs. |
