Cardenas DIV II's Best of the Week Monday, October 16th , 2045 18-year-old Alex Cardenas sent shock waves through Evolution last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Division 2 Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Cardenas made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .375 average, 9 hits in 24 at-bats, 4 home runs and 12 runs batted in. Where the University of California Golden Bears first baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Cardenas certainly made his mark last week. This year Cardenas is hitting .287 with 50 hits, 8 home runs, 38 RBIs and has scored 20 runs. |
