Smith Jacks 3 into the Stands
Tuesday, October 17th , 2045
The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Terrell Smith did today at Bailey-Brayton Field, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 7-6.
"It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Smith said. "Good things happen, when that happens."
The Washington State University Cougars center fielder blistered the University of Illinois Fighting Illini for 3 hits, batted in 5 runs and scored 3 times.
"It ain't like we weren't trying," University of Illinois manager Larry Stefanski II said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today."
Terrell Smith hit a three-run home run off Tom Harrison in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Tom Harrison in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, struck out in the 11th and hit a solo-shot off Boboy Cacabelos in the 13th.
This season Smith is batting .230 with 6 home runs. His totals include 21 RBIs and 20 runs scored.
