Big Day for Ikeda: Swats 5 Hits Friday, October 20th , 2045 It was a magical day at the plate for Rice University Owls center fielder Kazuyoshi Ikeda. The 18-year-old Ikeda helped lift Rice University to a 7-6 win over the UCLA Bruins today at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Ikeda smacked 5 hits in 6 at-bats to spark his club to victory. Kazuyoshi Ikeda flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Dave Maldonado in the 7th, doubled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Dave Williams in the 10th. Ikeda is batting .313 this year with 12 home runs, 28 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 56 hits in 179 at-bats. |
