Week's Premier Player: University of Illinois's Mendoza Monday, October 23rd , 2045 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Division 2, but last week Jonathan Mendoza of the University of Illinois Fighting Illini reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Mendoza rocked opposing pitching for a .556 average (10-for-18), 2 home runs and 3 RBIs to come away with the award. This season Mendoza has hit at a .337 clip with 28 RBIs, 10 home runs and 28 runs scored. He has played in 53 games. |
