Clemson University Shortstop Picked DIV II Player of the Week Monday, October 30th , 2045 18-year-old Alex Chairez made a few Clemson University headlines during this past week as the rookie shortstop proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Division 2 officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 8 hits in 15 at-bats to put up a .533 average. Chairez collected 1 home run, 3 RBIs and scored 2 runs. This season Chairez is batting .262 with 55 hits, 6 home runs, 28 RBIs, 5 walks, .281 OBP and has scored 25 runs. He has played in 61 games. |
