3-HR Binge for Starnes Against Rice University
Friday, December 8th , 2045
Every now and then, everything just comes together.
Karl Starnes discovered that today at Reckling Park, as he smashed three home runs during the 22-3 University of Toronto Marlies win over the Rice University Owls.
"I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the University of Toronto third baseman said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it."
Starnes finished the day with 3 hits in 5 at-bats and 7 RBIs.
Karl Starnes flied out in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Antonio Davila in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jamie Riley in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Eduardo Arlarcon in the 8th.
In his season totals Starnes has 21 home runs and a .228 batting average.
