Player of the Week Trophy to Martinez Monday, December 11th , 2045 18-year-old Carlos Martinez sent shock waves through Evolution last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Dvision 1 Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Martinez made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .519 average, 14 hits in 27 at-bats, 3 home runs and 5 runs batted in. Where the Vanderbilt University Commodores first baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Martinez certainly made his mark last week. So far this season Martinez is hitting .296 with 18 home runs, 40 RBIs and 48 runs scored. He has 91 hits in 307 at-bats and a .361 OBP. |
