Willerton Dominates, Whitewashes Phantoms Wednesday, August 30th , 2045 It wasn't easy but the Brockton Rox made it look that way. Starter Alex Willerton shut out the Niagara Falls Phantoms despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Brockton Rox cruised to victory, 27-0. Willerton allowed only 1 hit and rang up 14 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." On the season Willerton has 6 wins and 6 losses and a 3.98 ERA. |
