On a Roll: Gallegos Hits for Cycle Wednesday, August 30th , 2045 Tony Gallegos truly did it all at Niagara Falls Casino & Resort today. The Brockton Rox first baseman hit for the cycle -- collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run -- as he paced his club to victory, 27-0 over the Niagara Falls Phantoms. "You know that sweet sound you hear when you hit the ball just right? I heard that every time today," Gallegos said later. "It was a heck of a feeling." It was a game good enough for him to make a little history. He bombed Niagara Falls pitching for 4 hits in 6 at-bats and his name will now go into the record books. Gallegos also racked up 4 RBI and 4 runs scored in the game. Tony Gallegos singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Dale Anderson in the 2nd, tripled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. This year Gallegos has batted at a .281 pace with 89 hits, 13 home runs, 47 RBIs and scored 44 times. |
