Hitting Streak Still Alive for Gar Sunday, October 1st , 2045 The number just keeps getting higher. Miami Beach left fielder Mike Gar has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 1 hit in 2 at-bats as the Miami Beach took the 11-2 win over the Americus Braves at Miami Beach Stadium. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Americus manager Jaime Krempa said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Mike Gar hit a two-run home run off Cesar Pulido in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit a sac fly in the 8th. Looking at his stats this year, Gar has compiled a .450 batting average, while hitting 56 home runs and driving in 183 runs. He has played in 114 games and scored 160 runs. |
