Stan Stirnweiss Blanks Niagara Falls, 31-0 Monday, October 2nd , 2045 It wasn't easy but Stan Stirnweiss made it look that way. Stirnweiss silenced the Niagara Falls Phantoms, 31-0, in a Chester Pirates triumph at Chester Ballpark today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Stirnweiss said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up no walks and 4 hits. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." This season Stirnweiss has fanned 260 in 177.2 innings and collected a 9-8 record with a 3.19 ERA. |
