Duffy Smacks 5 Hits for Heat
Saturday, October 7th , 2045
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Mason Duffy today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Palm Beach Ballpark and paced the Heat to a 27-2 win over the Palm Beach Nationals.
After his dynamite batting performance, the Kelowna right fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. Mason Duffy grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th, reached via catchers interference in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
This year Duffy is batting .295 with 9 home runs. He has scored 97 runs and driven in 51.
