Great Stroke: Dirks Gets 5 Hits
Saturday, October 7th , 2045
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Kelowna's 27-2 win over Palm Beach today, second baseman Coen Dirks was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Palm Beach Ballpark.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Dirks said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Coen Dirks hit a solo-shot off Ramiro Ramirez in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, walked in a run in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Johnny Busse in the 6th, flied out in the 7th, grounded out in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
To date Dirks has chalked up a .323 average with 18 home runs, driven in 103 runs and scored 96 times.
