Bockmann Slams 5 Hits for Winnipeg
Sunday, October 8th , 2045
Caleb Bockmann was at the head of a Winnipeg hit parade today at Winnipeg International Baseball & Gold Complex. The third baseman went to the plate 7 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Goldeyes to a 22-0 victory over the Paris Cubs.
"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Bockmann told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."
Cubs skipper Tim Tebow said later that the club gave up "too much plate."
"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
Caleb Bockmann singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Roberto Cruz in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This year Bockmann has hit 14 home runs and posted a .296 batting average.
