Week's Best Player: New Jersey's Leyba Monday, October 9th , 2045 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Eastern League, but last week Tony Leyba of the New Jersey Devils reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Leyba rocked opposing pitching for a .500 average (12-for-24), 6 home runs and 15 RBIs to come away with the award. Currently Leyba is batting .316 with 80 home runs and 183 RBIs. |
