Players Suspended in Oaks-Heat Donnybrook Wednesday, October 11th , 2045 After an intense confrontation, both the Oaks Walt Alaniz and the Heat Jason Haas were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Oakland-Kelowna game. Walt Alaniz will miss 4 games, while Jason Haas was suspended for 9 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Walt Alaniz commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." In the current season, Alaniz has put up a .453 batting average with 24 hits, 2 home runs, 11 RBI and scored 19 runs. Haas has taken the mound for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 2-11 record with a 8.19 ERA. The Kelowna reliever has limited opposing batters to a .305 batting average. |
