Big Day with Bat: Romero 5-for-7 Wednesday, October 11th , 2045 Even as a kid, Edwin Romero said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Oregon Baseball Complex today, Romero showed how well he learned that lesson. The 21-year-old left fielder had 5 hits in 7 at-bats for the Roswell Invaders, helping his team knock off the Portland Angels by a score of 23-1. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Edwin Romero singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Noah Pena in the 9th. Currently Romero is batting .324 with 9 home runs and 52 RBIs. |
