Beck Slams 3 Deep for Oakland Wednesday, October 18th , 2045 Shannon Beck went yard three times in a Oakland Oaks victory over the Amarillo ThunderHeads at Oakland Oaks Grounds today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Oakland catcher went 3-for-4 against Amarillo with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Oaks to the 14-4 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Shannon Beck hit a two-run home run off Jose Vela in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jose Vela in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Nick Ehrlich in the 4th, walked in a run in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th. Beck on the season is hitting .355 with 23 home runs. His stats include 57 RBIs and 42 runs scored. |
