Thursday, October 19th , 2045
New Jersey Devils first baseman Tony Leyba had a magnificent game against the Canton Indians today, rocketing three balls out of Canton Ballpark to help the Devils take the 7-3 victory.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Leyba went 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," New Jersey manager Adrian Sapien said later. "Seems like Tony found his home run stroke today."
Tony Leyba flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Nesty Pulido in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Nesty Pulido in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Nesty Pulido in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
Presently Leyba is batting .318 with 156 hits and 81 home runs. He has knocked in 187 runs and scored 126 times.
