Devils Cruise to Quarter-Finals with Sweep Thursday, October 19th , 2045 The New Jersey Devils outclassed the Canton Indians in all facets of the game throughout the EL Round 1. The end result was a New Jersey series sweep to advance to the Quarter-Finals, capped off by a 7-3 win in the final game. "We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said first baseman Tony Leyba, who hit .438 in the series. Leyba's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .412 on-base percentage and had 4 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Quarter-Finals matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
