Marlins Prevail, as Round 1 Goes to the Wire Sunday, October 22nd , 2045 In an exciting Round 1 that had its fair share of drama and intrigue, perhaps it is Pioneer Baseball League fans who have come out the winner. But on the field, the winners were the Miami Beach Marlins, who edged the Americus Braves 4-3 to advance to the Quarter-Finals. Miami Beach won the final game by a 5-3 count to wrap up the series. Matt Moore earned series MVP honors, by hitting .444 with a .545 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 13 RBI and scored 5 runs.
