Round 1 Goes the Distance, Windy City Prevails Monday, October 23rd , 2045 Depending on your loyalties, the Round 1 was either thrilling or heartbreaking. The series went down to its final game, with the Windy City ThunderBolts and the Winnipeg Goldeyes giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the ThunderBolts came out on top, winning 8-6 at Winnipeg International Baseball & Gold Complex today to take the series 4-3. "We're lucky to be going into the Quarter-Finals," said Windy City pitcher Russ Cornett. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason." Cornett earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .318 average, with 3 home runs, 5 RBI and 5 runs scored. The Quarter-Finals matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
