The Louisiana State University right fielder did all he could do, going 5-for-6, but it was not enough to overcome the Mississippi State University Bulldogs. They triumphed over Louisiana State University 10-8 at Dudy Noble Field. Bob Govella singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
