25-Game Hitting Streak for Afghani Wednesday, September 27th , 2045 Jerry Afghani of the University of Miami Hurricanes extended his hitting streak to 25 straight games with 3 hits in today's 13-3 triumph over the University of Virginia Cavaliers at Davenport Field. "Jerry has been making it easy for me to pencil his name in the lineup every day," Hurricanes manager Tolenka Yakushkin joked after the game. Jerry Afghani hit an RBI single in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run double in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. Thus far this year Afghani is hitting .396 with no home runs, 25 RBIs and 26 runs scored. |
