Klein Hits for the Cycle
Thursday, October 26th , 2045
Getting 4 hits in a game is no easy feat, but doing it to hit for the cycle is even more rare.
Justin Klein of the Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers pulled it off today at L. Dale Mitchell Baseball Park, going 4-for-6 against the University of Oklahoma Sooners. His batting escapades sparked the Chanticleers to a 23-21 victory.
Klein tallied 4 runs and drove in 7 during the game. Hitting for the cycle is particularly rare because of the different skills required - enough power for a home run, enough speed for a triple and enough patience at the plate to see at least four hittable balls.
"It just happened," Klein said to reporters after the win. "Must have been fate or something, I wasn't expecting it. Heck, I wasn't even really trying for it."
Justin Klein doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th, flied out in the 8th, was hit by a pitch in the 9th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 10th.
Klein currently has a .342 batting average with 67 hits, 9 homers, 49 RBIs, 39 runs scored and a .409 OBP.
