University of Oklahoma's Caspers Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Thursday, October 26th , 2045 Today at L. Dale Mitchell Baseball Park, Han Caspers put on an impressive display. The University of Oklahoma Sooners catcher tagged Coastal Carolina University pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers by the score of 23-21. "The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Caspers said. "5-for-6 ain't bad in any league." Despite the terrific performance, the Sooners manager was unwilling to offer the catcher much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses. "Han told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Kyle Zimmer said. Han Caspers doubled in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 9th and hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 10th. For the season Caspers is currently batting .422 with 3 home runs and 28 RBIs. In 48 games he has reached base at a .514 rate and scored 48 runs to date. |
