Stefanov 5-for-6 for University of Conneticut Tuesday, October 31st , 2045 No matter what the Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers threw at him today, Sergei Stefanov hit it. He easily handled Chanticleers pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Huskies to a 26-11 triumph at Springs Brooks Stadium. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Stefanov's quip, Chanticleers skipper Egan Smith said he "would take him up on that next time." Sergei Stefanov walked in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season Stefanov has fanned 44 in 43.2 innings and collected a 3-1 record with a 2.68 ERA. |
