Matsuno Hits for Cycle Against Florida State University Thursday, November 23rd , 2045 Hidemitsu Matsuno truly did it all at Ballpark of Memphis today. The Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers first baseman hit for the cycle -- collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run -- as he paced his club to victory, 17-9 over the Florida State University Seminoles. "You know that sweet sound you hear when you hit the ball just right? I heard that every time today," Matsuno said later. "It was a heck of a feeling." It was a game good enough for him to make a little history. He bombed Florida State University pitching for 4 hits in 5 at-bats and his name will now go into the record books. Matsuno also racked up 6 runs batted in and 3 runs scored in the game. Hidemitsu Matsuno struck out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 5th, hit a sac fly in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. Thus far this year Matsuno has hit .345 with 17 home runs and 90 RBIs. |
