Red-Hot Lopez Scorches Chanticleers

Leo Lopez was sizzling at the plate today. In a game played at Springs Brooks Stadium, the University of Oklahoma first baseman blistered the Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace his club to a 17-7 victory.
"Lopez was too tough to get out today," Chanticleers skipper Egan Smith said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
Leo Lopez singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Melchior Hartman in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
So far this season Lopez is batting .319 with 14 home runs, 60 RBIs and 50 runs scored. He has 73 hits in 229 at-bats, 28 walks and a .407 OBP. Lopez has played in 70 games.
