Afghani's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games
Wednesday, November 29th , 2045
Jerry Afghani continued his streak at Haymarket Park today, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The University of Miami left fielder was 1-for-4 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Hurricanes were not as fortunate, losing 9-6 to the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers.
"Afghani was hitting everything we threw at him," said University of Nebraska manager Billy Vopinek. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame today and we came away with a win." Jerry Afghani hit an RBI single in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th and flied out in the 9th.
In his season totals, Afghani has 3 home runs, .399 BA, .454 OBP, 66 RBIs and 60 runs scored. He has played in 80 games.
