Nieves Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Monday, December 4th , 2045 Juan Nieves of the Florida State University Seminoles tagged 2 hits in today's 12-8 loss to the University of Alabama Crimson Tide at Sewell–Thomas Stadium to run his hitting streak to 20 straight games. "I realize it's unlikely to have a 20-game streak and not have a couple losses mixed in," he said later. "But it still takes the fun out of it." Juan Nieves grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, was hit by a pitch in the 6th, singled in the 7th, walked in the 8th and was hit by a pitch in the 9th. This year Nieves has socked 121 hits in 340 at-bats for a .356 average with 21 home runs. He is getting on base at a .458 pace and his totals also include 101 RBIs and 79 runs scored. |
