Black Bears Pitching Ravaged by Lenius
Wednesday, December 20th , 2045
It was high-fives all around for Chris Lenius at Mahaney Diamond today.
He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the University of Maine Black Bears. Lenius smashed 5 hits in 7 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 18-8 win.
"Chris was hitting everything," said Cornhuskers manager Billy Vopinek. "It really was a special game for him."
In the opposing dugout, Black Bears manager Nick Klouser told BNN beat writers that Lenius "ambushed" the club.
"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Lenius oversleeps next time."
Chris Lenius flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Keith Rogers in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
Lenius is batting .374 this season in 104 games with 10 home runs, 108 RBIs and 106 runs scored. He has 158 hits in 422 at-bats.
