Torres 5-for-6 Against University of Minnesota
Sunday, December 31st , 2045
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Ricardo Torres is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers at Sewell–Thomas Stadium today. The monster effort from the 17-year-old first baseman helped the University of Alabama Crimson Tide take the win, 11-10.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Golden Gophers manager Conor Kerins. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Ricardo Torres grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This season Torres has hit 6 home runs and posted a .319 batting average.
