The Oakland Athletics topped the Boston Red Sox by a score of 6-3. Leading the way was first baseman Jason May. May went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Athletics. Oakland pitcher Kevin Endsley got the win. He's now 1-0. Fred Huber was tagged with the loss. The win puts Oakland at 15-15.
